Meadowbank Homes new Display home at the new Homequest Village has been constructed using Meadowbank’s traditional building methods and provides the customer a great opportunity to see what can be achieved when builders and their team of loyal  sub- contractors pull together to deliver a product we are all proud of.

Curved Bricks and shutters on the front exterior façade add to the timeless grace of this home.Internal architectural features included Wainscoting to entrance, foyer, powder and study;  Battered ceiling to study;  Recessed slim led stair lights complimented the  Solid timber staircase with stained treads, carpet and handrail,  American Oak flooring.

Recessed Architectural downlights were used to reduce glare and keep the focus on the quality finish delivered. Decorative Light fittings throughout were selected from Emac and Lawton, Bedroom fittings and Terrace fan were sourced from Beacon Lighting.  Legrand Excel Life Switches and powerpoints were used throughout and we also used their sensors and Sunset switches to control lights as required.

“I find that Hills Electrical approaches all aspects of their work with an enthusiasm that makes working with them enjoyable and satisfying. They are dedicated electricians that pride themselves on working as part of a team to achieve an outstanding product.”

Respectful Heritage

One of Cheltenham’s original properties, this home deserved a thorough and high-quality renovation.

We respected the original part of the house by minimising disruption and staying true to historical features such as pull switches and powerpoints subtly cut into skirtings where necessary.

A CBUS automation system controls the exterior and in the new and old sections of the house including the ballroom. As a result we were able to limit wall damage caused by chasing. Instead a control cable behind an architrave required little work from the builders to finish the job.

This was not one of our biggest jobs yet it was an extremely satisfying project and a privilege to work on this stunning restoration.

Architectural Hideaway

An exciting project in St Ives on Sydney’s Upper North Shore enabled us to work with luxury home builders, Carty Homes, for the first. It was also the first time we’d worked on a house constructed using Hebel Solid Panels.

Tovo Lighting, together with the owners, designed the very detailed lighting plan.

We can’t wait for the next opportunity to team up with all these partners again.

The stand out features of the electrical works in this project included under-floor heating and heated towel rails in the bathroom, the beautiful large glass pendant feature in the grand entrance space and automated blinds throughout the home.

Our wi-fi system has an extra access point to work with the specs of the Hebel solid panels in conjunction with a Sonos Zone to deliver music in the outdoor room, the pool and the sauna in the cabana!

The Luxury Resort feel and state-of-the-art finishes were so impressive that the house was a finalist in the HIA Australia Greensmart Awards for 2017 and featured on Australia’s Best Houses.

“This project opens a new chapter in our business, being our first complete Hebel Solid home. Because of this we needed to use trades that were passionate, innovative and highly skilled.

We worked closely with Hills Electrical and Wiring Solutions from the initial design component right through to the last globe in our stunning foyer pendant.

The whole Hills team could not have been more helpful in all areas of the project. They showed impressive attention-to-detail and helped us achieve an outcome we are very proud of.”

Wahroonga Classic

Another brilliant project for Meadowbank Homes, this beautiful home features a French Provincial style including with some striking pendant lights and antique fittings.

The owner loves technology and knows it better than most. After discussing options with them we decided to use a Cbus Automation system to control the interior lighting system and garden lighting designed by Nigel Finnemore from Castlight.

Under Floor heating, heated towel rails, lamps, electric blinds … even the coffee machine is on a programmed schedule!

A Sonos system provides high-fidelity sound to 11 separate zones throughout the home. An IP Security camera system enables access from the owners’ phones to remotely control who goes in and out.

“Peter Hill and his company Hills Electrical is the electrical contractor that implemented all the electrical and automation systems in our house, which was built in 2015.

Our house has a full Clipsal C-bus automation system that includes over 100 C-bus devices, 25 Sonos units, CCTV, Wifi, and numerous network connected devices which were all supplied, installed and configured by Hills Electrical. Throughout the process Peter and team were very attentive to our requirements and took the time to ensure that the system was configured in a way that truly met our expectations. The installation completed ahead of time and on budget, and we have not had a single issue with any part of the installation.

We highly recommend Peter and his team at Hills Electrical for any work, and especially for work that includes home automation.”

MBA excellence in Housing Awards

We had the honour of working closely with Meadowbank Homes on a recent project which  won the 2017 MBA Excellence In Housing Awards, Design And Construct – House 1.5 Million -2 Million Range. An outstanding achievement!

Interior lighting in this beautifully styled home was designed in conjunction with the owners and their designer. The stunning exterior and garden lighting was designed by Castlight Australia.

Bathrooms were fitted with wall lights, heated towel rails and underfloor heating.

Our commercial Wi Fi system provides connectivity and custom home theatre systems were installed in both the living and media rooms. A Sonos system provides music throughout the property including around the pool area.

Our experience with Peter and the Hills Electrical team was exceptional from the start. The entire team were always friendly and respectful and work in the most efficient and professional manner alongside our builders, Meadowbank Homes. Peter took the time to explain different lighting and technology options to sure that we would be happy with the end result. The team was able to source the best products available in the market, including SONOS. Peter brought several products and ideas to us that we didn’t know were available. The end result for us is a beautiful lit home both inside and out and one that is connected to all the modern technologies family homes now demand. I would happily recommend the team for your next job, big or small.”

Glenhaven Beauty

Bringing this 1960’s stunner back to the top of its game was a fantastic project to be involved in. An added bonus was working again with the talented concept designer, Leanne Smeallie from Ampersand Interiors and Telgrit Constructions who put translated her design into reality.

We first stripped everything out and found new homes for some of the beautiful original light fittings. We then wired up the house with a Cbus system controlling all components of the house.

A special feature of the scope was to have a beautiful dual-purpose lounge room, featuring natural light land fireplace, but also transforming into a movie room when the owner chose.

With a bit of negotiation, we devised a solution to match the brief with a 110 Inch screen that drops down in front of the fireplace combined with a drop-down projector.

The excellent sound has been achieved with plastered-over invisible speakers, two in-ceiling subs and 6 other speakers. Everything was controlled by a Savant Smart Controller.

Ampersand Interiors designed the Opulent indoor lighting and exterior lighting including surrounding gardens was designed with the help of Castlight.

A CCTV system covers the expansive property with the owner able to let people into the property remotely.

It was a really enjoyable project
